According to Forbs "by 2025, an estimated 70% of the workforce will be working remotely at least five days a month." What this tells me is that we should be investing in the pajama business! All joking aside, working from home is different and can be challenging.
We have been working from home part time for the last four years. It can be really enjoyable and frustrating. We came up with 6 different items to put in your working from home survival kit to help overcome the difficulties! Working From Home Survival Kit Checklist
1. Desk Organizer
We all know that working from home can be a bit chaotic, especially if you have kids around. Even if you don't, you need to organize your home items and be able to keep them separated from your work items. It get's especially hard if you have a side business you have to manage too.
A desk organizer is one of the best things to have in your work from home survival kit. Click the image below to find the best desk organizer on Amazon to fit your needs.
2. External Hard Drive
Now that you are working from home you are going to have a lot more data to store on your computer. This can cause your computer to slow down and not function as well as it used to. You can fix this by transferring your work files and data to an external hard drive.
An external hard drive is also an excellent way to stay organized. You can keep all your personal files stored on your computer and all your work or business files on the hard drive.

A good planner is a must-have in your working from home survival kit. You may have everything planned online or in an online calendar, but a physical planner helps you keep track of your to-do's and your upcoming deadlines.

4. Extra Laptop/Tablet
One nice thing about working from home is that you can work in your pajamas while sitting on the couch. You can't fully enjoy the luxuries of working from home without lounging on the couch or your bed. If you only have a desktop you may be out of luck.
Laptops and tablets used to be pretty expensive. Not so much anymore. You can find some really good ones well under the $500 range. Click the image below to find one for you.
5. Coffee Maker With Espresso
I admit, this one is all about luxury, but why not live to the fullest and have an espresso at home whenever you want! Amazon sells coffee makers with espresso makers all in one. Some of them even have grinders on top for you whole bean coffee drinkers.

Last but not least is the snacks. Admit it, you don't eat as much now that you are working from home. Or maybe you eat more! Why not grab some snacks to satisfy those cravings between meals.
Every work from home survival kit needs snacks. Sometimes you are not as productive from home so you have to work longer to make up for it. You are going to need some snacks to hold you over before you can go cook that frozen pizza!

Working from home has its pro's and con's. We have been working from home part time for the last four years and know what it's like. It can be very rewarding to flip open that laptop on the couch while sitting next to your spouse or kids. It can also be very distracting. That's why you need to stay organized with your own work from home survival kit.
