Water Purification Tablets

Water purification tablets (iodine or chlorine dioxide) are the lightest and cheapest option for a portable kit. Aquatabs and Potable Aqua are the two leading brands. Tablets kill bacteria and viruses but do not remove heavy metals or chemical contaminants. They are best used as a backup to a physical filter, not as a primary filtration method.
