NATO Increases Forces on High Alert from 40,000 to 300,000 Amid Russian Threats

Russia threats NATO

There are about 5000 troops deployed in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to deter Russian forces. Because of Putin's threats, NATO is is increasing forces on high alert from 40,000 to 300,000. This is "biggest overhaul of the alliance's defense's since the Cold War" (SkyNews).

Not only is NATO increasing it's alert, the United States is set to "significantly increase its military presence in Europe" (Military Times). This includes two more F-35 fighter jet squadrons to the UK and more air defense to Italy and Germany.

NATO is trying it's best to stay out of the war so it doesn't tune into World War Three, but wants to de-escalate the situation as fast as it can. Not only to stop all the blood that has been spilled from Ukraine and Russia, but for what else the future this war could bring as well.

NATO increased the troop readiness to protect the existing NATO countries that surround Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin has been warning other countries to stay out of the war and threatens anyone that dares to stop them.

Meanwhile Russia still occupies Ukraine and has since abandoned their initial victory of snake Island. Will this be significant enough to turn the war?
